Waah! I typed out a really really long thought out post about this just now, but when I tried to create, it told me I wasn't logged in, and I lost it!
So... now you get the short version!
I really have no clue how difficult it would be to code any of this... mainly I was hoping to inspire some discussion.
Basically, I thought it would be neat to have a new use for seeds and new skills to train in.
So I came up with: Nurture vs Nature
You get a pot to begin with (you can buy more somehow). And in these pots you can plant 2 types of seeds.
Type one grows into a consumable plant that gives temporary battle stat gains. The usefulness depends on your Nature stat.
Type two grows in to a pet type plant that can be used for battle. This would result from Nurture stats.
I thought maybe these seeds could be from digs and you wouldn't be able to tell what you were growing until a few days into the process. Or maybe they could just be donation seeds (or both)
The more you let the plant grow, the more useful it becomes (with limits).
Other things could come of this, like perhaps requirement for watering or another use for fertilizer... and maybe allowing them to be sold could add a whole new strategy for some players. |
