These are some ideas Hied and I had about colonies tonight.
Some of them might not be very good, and some of them need a lot of work, but I thought I'd bring them to the table.

Colony Incentives
Why Even Bother with a Colony?
Equipment
Add special items that are only available to colonies.
These items are just a bit superior to the items you can buy at the regular shop, but no one may own them. They can be bought and sold from a sort of "black market" that is only accessable to gang leaders. Equipment available through this means are based on gang level. (Hied had a notable objection to this: as money becomes less valuable and equipment more useful, this may make items at the regular shop obsolete).
Bonus
Blanket stat bonus to colony members. (this can be depended on gang level as well) It does not apply to War Chamber fights.
Random Protection
Might be a bad idea. (Hied didn't like it at all "What am I, your rat?")
When a colony member is attacked by a higher level player, there is a very minimal chance that a random gang member will step in for an attack or two (maybe at a % of their capabilities)... or maybe to absorb some of the damage.

Colony vs. Colony
Battle Ideas
1 on 1
Instead of 1 person being able to wipe out the whole team, there could be a system where its more like smaller 1 on 1 battles. Each person in the fight is paired randomly with another player. For example if its 5 vs. 5, whoever wins 3/5 battles is declared winner. The losers run off when they see they are out numbered.

All Out War
1 big battle. There are no turns and attacks are based on stats. For example: whoever has the highest speed will rush into battle first and attack. The attacks are random so you can fight different people at different times. People get knocked out as they go... whoever is left wins. This plan could allow for some strategy and cooperation and everyone gets to attack... the little guy could even get lucky and be the savior. (This is kinda Hied's baby. I'll let him elaberate).
Experience for Losing?
Experience could be granted for winners, but also maybe for losers based on how much damage they dealt or how close they were to winning. Experience granted is also based on the level of each gang. This way, one colony can't soar way out ahead of the others, very quickly.

Thanks for your input, guys :)

I'm leaning toward the All Out War colony fighting idea, although it would have to be with a colony-selected group of fighting. Putting everyone in the colony into a fight wouldn't be feasible as the size of colonies grows: it'd get ridiculously long, confusing, and be hard on the server.

I'll definitely give some thought to the bonuses from colony membership as well.

The all out war could have a sign up like at duncan's house in hobowars. 1st 25 people who sign up fight.Maybe when you click to join the war it could be sent out as sort of an application and the leader decides who is put into the war?

interesting how you will solve that with the coding. With the health resetting between each fight the colony with the strongest plant will always win unless you apply some sort of penalty or "fatigue" factor for each round a plant survive?

Let me know if you come across any issues with the colony shed armory stuff (especially you leaders)..

Oh, and psst: go click on some weapon / armor names at the shop. (First experiment with Ajax - hope to incorporate it more at a later date, which should make pages more responsive.)

I've Just read all of them and they are good descriptions but the plastic pot says that it helps speed AND defense yet the speed is lowered by one it should say that it doesn't hamper speed as much as a normal pot

EDIT

I'm waiting for miracle sap ya know like hobowars points 5mls or ounces of sap = awake refill oh and I think everyone should get 10 ounces or mls free for being with the game since it is/was young !!lol!

Something to think about would be weapon costs. I know it has been brought up before, but I will say it here. If a weapon grants +25 to a stat, it should cost less then the fertilizer it would take to get 25 stat points, otherwise there is no point to buy the weapon.

You need to level up before you can talk here.
Go find someone to fight by clicking "Others" at the top!
