I think people writing on one another's walls should be motivated by the desire to comment and communicate, not by the desire to gain points by being the first post.

still the use of a weapon against an unarmed person is pretty much a win for the weapon holder.

A win as in not losing the battle, maybe. But the loss off your honor is worse then losing the fight.

The person with the weapon will lose if the fight lasts more than one slash.

Or against the main character.

Everyone knows you can never hit the main character with anything stabby.

Edit; apparently, if they were Shinto, they did. Apparently Amaterasu the sun god lived there. Ama means heaven, and Amaterasu is the great august kami who shines in the heaven, so they probably sit around...in heaven...and shine.
