Topic: Facebook Knockoff

This makes me so happy. For those that don't know, the same guy who made Buskerwars (clone of Hobowars), ripped off Plant Wars and made a Facebook application. Copied all the images and the game play was the same.

Those bastards spammed until Facebook kicked 'em off. The app would mail all friends of anyone who added it, so I guess that got it banned. (Although it certainly would've been nice if they had responded to my report about the copyright infringement..)

Look at the usage stats

There are at least six anti-Plant Wars Facebook groups thanks to those guys.

We win though. Lots more traffic since they shut down :D

I think I'll learn how to develop for Facebook and see if I can't save the name's reputation. Should drive a considerable amount of people here too.

Wow...unbelievable..

I'm still amazed that spamming the hell out of people can be so effective. In a few days they went from roughly 100 players to more than 10,000... of course we see where it eventually led.

Facebook is so ridiculously worthless these days. I'll be happy when this whole "social networking" thing blows over.
